Con el agrado de los competidores, finalizò la I Edicion Downhill 30K Descenso del Nevado Cayambe. Se dieron cita màs de 100 participantes con su familias y amigos en el Refugio del Nevado Cayambe, lugar que deleito a propios y extraños con su espectalular majestuocidad y su particular belleza. La competencia tuvo su singularidad desde un inicio; debido a que la nieve hubo desde el Refugio, con lo cùal las personas pudieron hacer fotografìa y saborear el clima andino de nuestro paìs. Los ganadores en las tres categorìas fueron: Categorìas Elite: El Primer Lugar lo obtuvo Diego Naranjo, Segundo Lugar Danny Villalba, Tercer lugar Esteban Paredes. Categorìa Juvenil: Primer Lugar Camilo Alvear Jr, Segundo Lugar Sebastiàn Rodrìguez, Tercer Lugar Jhony Quishpe. Categorìa Aventura: Primer Lugar Angel Navas, Segundo Lugar Daniel Romero, Tercer Lugar Angel Pujota. La carrera de aventura màs alta del mundo se realizarà los dìas 13,14 y 15 de febrero del 2010. Es una carrera non-stop asistida de 300 km. (categoría élite) y carrera 300 km con paradas asistidas en las noches de 150 km. (categoría aventura). Las categoríasestàn conformadas por: Equipos élite, equipos aventura, equipos solo hombres élite, equipos solo hombres aventura, equipos Huairatour. Con èxito y a gusto de los competidores finalizò la II Ediciòn Cayambe Extremo 50k; se dieron cita competidores de Guayas, Imbabura, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi y Pichincha. Agradecemos a los competidores por su participaciòn y muy pronto recibiràn noticias sobre la aventura ciclistica en el pàramo andino; que tendrà como altura mìnima y màxima los 3600 a 4100 m.s.n.m..

Ecuador has three main geographic regions, plus an insular region in the Pacific Ocean: La Costa, or the coast, comprises the low-lying land in the western part of the country, including the Pacific coastline. La Sierra ("the highlands") is the high-altitude belt running north to south along the center of the country, its mountainous terrain dominated by the Andes mountain range. Ecuador's capital is Quito, which is in the province of Pichincha in the Sierra region. Its largest city is Guayaquil, in the province of Guayas on the Coast. Cotopaxi, which is just south of Quito, features one of the world's highest active volcanoes. The top of Mount Chimborazo (6,310-m above sea level) is considered to be the most distant point from the center of the earth, given the ovoidal shape of the planet (wider at the equator). Although the country is not particularly large (the size of the U.S. state of Colorado), there is great variety in the climate, largely determined by altitude. The Pacific coastal area has a tropical climate, with a severe rainy season. The climate in the Andean highlands is temperate and relatively dry; and the Amazon basin on the eastern side of the mountains shares the climate of other rain forest zones. Because of its location at the equator, Ecuador experiences little variation in daylight hours during the course of a year.
